We are planning a cross country trip with a JCer on the weekend. From Atlantic to Pacific. Anybody been to Alvord Desert recently? :)
 
Why would one want to? (I know, 'cuz it's there.) 12 x 7 mi dry lake bed. Theoretically OK for landing light aircraft.

Visit a friend in nearby Fields, OR, pop 86?
