I saw that they are looking and submitted my application. From what I read they seem like a good solid company to work for. I wonder if they will get their 757s running to Hawaii like they plan.

Can anyone shed more light onto them?

They used to require dispatchers to handle crew scheduling duties outside of regular office hours, and their pay was pretty low also. This may have changed in recent years but the crew scheduling duties would have been a deal killer for me.

As much charter as these guys do (did?), they have their own route planning group don't they? Or do they lay it all on the Dispatcher while he's working all the 121 flights? At my company, for instance, I believe the whole thing has to be reviewed by a SOC manager, CP, and the DO, however I'd have to bring out the book and look at it.

I honestly don't know but it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't. I know four former co-workers of mine who had dispatch jobs there - none of them liked it and they have all left for other jobs. It does appear to be a financially sound company but also a very penny-pinching one. It's another airline on my list of ones that I was trying to get on with at one point and now glad that I never did.

Yeah, the CEO (or whatever his title) is a penny pincher and hides his contempt of pilots under a universality of equality of employment. Ask your Allegiant friends about such quotes as, "I consider a pilot of no more importance than I do a flight attendant." While his remarks ring very true from a CRM perspective, our pay difference is another reality based off of training a skill differences. The Casinos that own the place don't help things either, they are the real owners and the hand to which the whip is attached.

I'll say this though, as a pilot, when Allegiant is good it sounds like it is GREAT. 95 credit hours and 120 hours away from base... If you live in base holy crap is that a great deal. I hope the Dispatchers have similar QOL benefits.

Seems like these guys are always hiring, I've always been very interested to find out more about these guys, although as stated the crew sched duties would be a deal breaker for me, been there done that, I have thought about applying before, keep us in the loop if you hear anything back, I know there was a review on interview gouge from these guys but it was a bit dated.

I had a former NW co worker I used to work with who went to Allegiant as a Maintenance Controller and he just quit said he couldn't make it on the money they were paying. I think maybe the pilot group likes it there but any other group that I know of that works there has quit for greener pastures.

I did and they "decided to go in another direction with their Dispatcher position." as they put it. Pretty much thanks for applying but NO.
