Allegiant Strike

So, my family likes this airline because of the prices. My uncle is a snowbird, and we like the cheap flights to Vegas

Anyone fly for Allegiant? Personally I am not a fan of these budget airlines if I can help it. Their stupid baggage rules (Allegiant at least) make my trip frustrating, I do expect some decent service. Being treated like something short of cattle is what I suppose you get for such a cheap flight. But my family does it when we go out to see my sister in south Utah. But with such low prices, it makes sense that the employees might not like the way they are treated. My dad and uncle are crazy about Allegiant though. It's what it is. But I find it interesting, or rather to be expected.

I do have a question regarding strikes.

Is it a all out "we got each others backs" when a pilot group strikes? Or is it some are for this strike way more than others and those "others" are just along for the ride not wanting to be on the national scab list?

Pilot groups are like any other large group of people. There are wildly differing opinions. In the end, though, few people are willing to stab their fellow pilots in the back and cross the line. Some guys may bitch about the strike and want to go back to work, but they'll hold the lines for as long as the strike lasts.

The few who cross the picket lines will likely do permanent damage to their careers in the process.

Yep... sure do. Our baggage rules are similar to Frontier/Spirits but I can see how it can be frustrating if you aren't well versed in flying AAY.
We employees do our very best to treat our guests as such, guests. I realize many folks feel like there are fees for everything but when adding up the total cost of riding on us I feel we do a very good job at beating the competition in the price column. Our average one way fare is somewhere in the $89 range and often less than that.

Well, the Allegiant thing was •. Never flying em again if I can help it. Besides, I am a bit of an Epicurean. I'll fly first class if I can afford it. If not, I will at least fly a decent airline. Frontier was pretty good. The problem was we each took a rolling backpack because we thought we could use them for the carry on. Partially our fault for not reading the baggage policy but we had to pay $25 a bag to check them because they were too big for the rather small carry on size. Then we did not check the bags online. I actually saw all that, but thought we were carrying them. So again, part of it was my fault, but still BS. Luckily my dad was able to redeem this $75 with the points on his credit card. And we bought a huge $15 bag at a thrift store in Utah and left the backpacks at my sister's. It was $20 to check with Frontier. Not bad. Even my dad was so mad he vowed not to fly Allegiant again. I am sure the pilot above, like all the workers, is just doing their job. I do not blame the workers. They were polite and tried to help as much as they could. I cursed the corporate overlords and their greed.
 
I hate carry-on bag fees.

Damn, I might have a backpack full of Sharper Image catalogs I want to go through and they're not worth a dime.
