Currently hiring assistant dispatcher, I believe they operate out of Las Vegas.

Anyone work for them? Feel free to share any info/experiences, thanks!
 
According to the interview gouge I was able to find it looks like they have a pretty straight forward process. Full line dispatchers allegedly start at 35K for the first 6 months, 37K for the next 6 then 45K 2nd year. It's not a get-rich-quick kinda joint but it is up and coming and from what I've heard they actually care about you sticking around, so that's meaningful.

A friend of mine fly's for Allegiant, and he loves them. I would apply for the position, but it requires an ADX, and I need some cash to get that.
 
I worked for them for 5 years as a Supervisor in their Reservations Center (left to go get my dispatchers license). I love the company and are great to work for - they offer vision and dental insurance...The down side is they offer a HSA for their medical, at least they did as of August, so I am not sure if that has changed with the open enrollment that happens in October. They are a LCC so the pay for most of the front line personal is lower than a major. They are located on the southwest side of LAS in a very nice building, it's about 4 years old. The CEO and President don't have their own office, they have a cubicle with everyone else in the building and is always talking with the employees, at least Maury does. The company is small and is like family, you start to see the same people every day and get to know them who are all great people. The OCC/SOC is a great department - our department had to work close together because of the customer service side with my department. Dispatcher, MX control and crew scheduling are all in the same room with the managers of each department who are all great to work with!!

LAS is an okay place to live, the housing market is in a slump, so if you are looking to stay for 4-5 years I would suggest looking at buying a house if it is renting or buying, rent for a 1 bedroom apartment can run you $800-$1000 a month. You can find a foreclosed home with 3-5 bedroom with 2-3 baths for around 110k (and can make your money back and then some a few years) in a nice area of town. New homes can vary depending on what you are looking for, there are new homes that are located in the next housing track that are 3 stories with an elevator for about 180k-210k that vary in with bedrooms but are about 190,000+ sqft. I would say the only down side about LAS is the schools if you have kids....with the budget issues with the school district, most classroom sides are about 40 kids for 1st to 5th...Middle School to High School can very depending on what they are taking...We also have a few tech high schools here as well.

I would really like to go back to work for them in their dispatch department but there are a few people who have left in the past and came back to work for. I believe Forbes has ranked us as well. If you have questions, feel free to ask!!
 
Great company to work for from what I hear...they are growing and believe they are adding the A319 to the fleet with in the next 6 months. I know they have 5 757's that they use to run to Hawaii from several different cities. The majority of the fleet are MD80 series aircraft with two seating configurations - 166 and 130. I heard a few rumors a few months ago that Allegiant was looking to buy Sun Country and also that they were going to merge with Spirit but I don't see that happening.

I believe Allegiant owns 100% of their planes with leasing options on the A319.

If you are looking to stay in LAS long term - then I would suggest applying with Allegiant as their assistant dispatcher, I remember seeing that the dispatcher position requires at least 2-3 years of experience.

Vegas is a great place....could never live there because of the seasons....it's hot as hell in the summer and cool to warm in the other months...no seasons!!
 
I sat with one of the top people hired on recently to bring in the new airbus fleet on a flight to Vegas a few months ago. From what he told me they should already have at least a couple of the 319s on property with lots more coming in rapid sucession.

And take this for what it's worth but he also told me that once the Airbus is up and flying and the company is well settled that the next big project is to improve the SOC and really try to make it more of a career destination for dispatchers and MX control. Sounds like a good place to work if you can handle Vegas.
 
From what I heard from my friends at Allegiant, they are saying that the A319 will be in AZA (Mesa, AZ) and SFB (Sanford, FL). I am not sure what route but the long term plan is to South America...most likely out of Florida and maybe to Mexico out of AZA and LAS.

I know the first few have the new paint job and are in the states already.

I would agree that this is the biggest downfall, my wife had kidney surgery this year and we are $8,000 out of pocket with another $6,000 pending, so if you need good health ins this isn't it!

No because all of the dispatcher that are at Allegiant were never assistant dispatchers. The assistant dispatcher position started back in August of this year, right before I left to go to Sheffield. With that said, don't get me wrong, if there is someone who has lots of experience outside the company they have a chance.
