Alaska Nonrev

id say yeah its pretty uncommon, never even heard of that before
Well, the idea behind UA employees going from some small number of SA01V vacation passes to like 11 of them or whatever was meant to help out commuters, especially those who were getting bumped by SkyWest employees back when stuff like SEA/PDX-SFO/LAX and SFO-SAN and the like was flown by lots of 50-66 seat RJs right when CO came to town and turned UA around. I recall that 100% of UA service at the time of the merger was Shuttle America E170s or something like that. No fun for mainline commuters when rampers with a 2 week date of hire keep taking the last seat. The lasting effect is there are so many passes for non-commuters who only use them for upgrades on pleasure flights that it is very hard to get Polaris on a lot of routes without using one of those passes. A lot of flights from Asia will have a standby list of 60+ where almost everyone is dumping one lol even tho coach has like 150 open.
