I meant it more in the sense, at least it wasn't a paying passenger who got hit with glycol.

That's why we now shut down the APU for deicing. We'll just run both engines and then if we need it, restart the APU before take off.

The flatulence on the CRJ is too powerful for me, plus the deice gets blasted back in my face when we go around to the other side.

Kindba reminds me of an amusing morning of deicing back when I was a Saab FO based in HPN. The RJ next to us was getting deiced and had the APU running. The deice guys managed to shoot the APU out not once, not twice, but three times! I nearly fell out of my seat laughing, which was pretty hard to do in the not so roomy Saab cockpit. The other crew was pretty, umm, *upset* about it and made a few radio calls which were equally entertaining.
