AK 135 VFR

Roger Roger

Bottom of the list
My company is looking at getting 1 or 2 temporary pilots for the summer season (approximately April through September).
PM me for deets if you're interested.

This is how I met Roger and a few other "locals" to JC.
A great way to earn experience. If marginal VFR scares you don't bother applying.
If you can think on your feet, get along with others (outside the company too) this is a great opportunity.

What Nark said is dead on. You'll be expected to work hard, but if you do and you have a good attitude you'll be appreciated. The flying side of the company is equal parts stick and rudder skills, planning/critical thinking, and customer service. If we get a good crew up here for the summer it can be a blast... Alaska aviators like to work hard and play harder. Our area is beautiful and has toooons of outdoor activity options in the summer-hiking, fishing, boating, flying, biking, hunting, shooting, climbing, camping, you name it.

I loved flying in Juneau, I think about flying litterally every single day. It is the best flying experience.

Expect to work really hard, drink too much, and scare the crap out of yourself. SE Alaska is not a place for people without stick and rudder, work ethic, or a sense of humor.

I've got a backlog of PMs to respond to since I've been busy with my own flight training, but to answer the mins question...
135 VFR mins are a given. However, I would be shocked if we hired anyone under 1000 TT and would consider 1500 and up competitive. Alaska or other mountain time would weight heavily in your favor, as would prior 135 time.
Edit: I should be all caught up on PMs. Good luck to all!

You just gotta know where you're at, you'll be fine. Not as much white out or flat light as in Bethel but you'll get that too going through the passes where there are glaciers.

I don't have 1000TT, nor mountain or Alaska time, but flew in a 135-equivalent operation back in Australia in what would be considered a remote area. Is this gig still looking for applicants?

Hey all. Thanks for the PMs, it looks like I actually got the attention of some pretty qualified people. If you didn't hear back you got lost in the flood, try messaging me again. I haven't chatted with the CP since tuesday, so I don't know if they've made their hiring decisions yet or not. Please if anyone hears back let me know via PM and I can answer any other questions you might have!

I heard that one guy who sent his resume in got an email back today saying to come up and do a flight interview if he is serious. So hopefully some more of you will be hearing something too.

Hey everybody, I just had a long talk with the CP and we are still looking for qualified guys so if you haven't heard anything or I missed a PM from you let me know!
