Airways jumpseat?

I wouldn't be surprised at all to the see offline process go to the LAA because of the "were bigger" so it's easier to do it this way.

I was on the jumpseat committee at a previous carrier and we were seeking a reciprocal agreement with AA. We were repeatedly told no new agreements until post merger when the LUS jumpseat system and agreements would take over.

Take it for what it is worth.

Bigger is not always better :)

I think you guys are talking about two different things.

The internal "Airways System" allows listing for a jumpseat X amount of days in advance and having it reserved for you. The internal AA system involved first come first serve.

Does the ability to reserve the JS apply to WO Express carriers or is mainline only?

Thanks

At one point in time we were working on trying to get something similar to the Mainline IVR at PSA (which would have applied ONLY to PSA pilots on PSA aircraft). It never happened.

As a WO pilot you have priority on Mainline metal jumpseats, but after all mainline pilots.

Also, the only AA people stomping their feet on a seniority-based jumpseat all had seniority numbers less than 2000 and all lived in base.

I don't know. From my limited experience it's "hey lets use our (small airline) system" only to find out it is woefully inadequate for a much much larger airline.
