So it's official - classes have been canceled, had nothing to do with UAL furloughees vs ASA furloughees vs poolies etc etc....

Enough VLOA's came back - all future VLOA's are canceled - and they will be evaluating staffing needs month to month (obviously?).....guess im gettin thrown back in the drink!:D

Who the hell is picking up the flying now ATL is closing March 1st for SkyWest?

Also, will SkyWest still fly any of the ATL routes out of ORD?

What equipment was SKW flying in Atlanta?

ASA is having greater 700/900 utilization from March onward. Vacancy/Displacement bid from ATL -200 to IAD -200, and ATL -200 to ATL -700.

Add to that 9E picked up (from somewhere) 300 more block hours on the -900 in Feb. Wouldn't surprise me to see a bit more in March. Plus, our -200s are apparently gonna be cycling through ATL and CVG starting next month.

They had a few -900s and a few -200s in ATL. I believe the base was a -200 base. There is nothing like get called in for a trip, rushing to the airport, updating the Pubs, only to find a SKW -200 and crew sitting at the gate with your flight # and destination on the release. All that only to be reassigned to Ready Reserve... Apparently there was low coverage so SKW took the flight.

hahahaha

No way.

IIRC The OO ATL operation was CR9 exclusively.
The word in the crew rooms is there is a MX TDY bid open for MSP.
Looks like DAL wants to spread around the DCI carriers some more.

Anybody ever find it funny that they spread out all the other DCI carriers to other bases except for ASA? For the last 3-4 years that have kept us ATL bound while giving everybody else bases all over the place.

Things that make you go hmmmmmm.....

Jeez. How long has SKW had an ATL base? A year? Sucks for those guys.

Thats whats so tough with this job....who knows where you'll end up. Just think of how many pilots at different carriers have done the base shuffle over the past ten years. The only sure things I can think of off the top of my head are probably SWA in DAL, Delta in ATL, Alaska in SEA, and Im pretty sure that Skyw would rather go the way of aca than give up SLC.

If you didn't have a percentage assigned to you, they probably would shift things around. As it is, I think they pretty much have to keep you locked in ATL to keep that going. Otherwise, you'd wind up below that percentage with a few percentages in the other hubs.
