Todd can you answer this? Hearing around the forums today 48 Captain Openings and 48 First Officers? Classes possibly as early as Feb???
Hopefully this helps the Midwest guys and gals that are out of work.
According to their website, they are not currently hiring new poolies.
He might have to keep his lips a little shut about these types of details.
They've started contacting people in the pool. My last captain got an email/phone call from the HR people asking if he was still interested. They didn't give him any time frame or numbers though.
Talked to a friend at AirTran this week, he's family friends with Stephanie/Stefanie that head's up their HR Dept...no word to her yet for potential hirings.
I say this because he offered up the info to me. Take it for what it's worth...I trust him, he was my Check Airman when I started at Wings Air (he was furloughed at the time).
So 135 PIC is useless, even if it is in an transport category aircraft?![]()
Is this new scoring system something that most airlines do across the board at the Major/Legacy levels?
Also any word on the number looking to get hired? I was thinking it was 48 Captain Openings and 48 First Officers... I did not know if that would mean they just replace the FO's whom are going to upgrade or if it was right now they need 96 pilots total??? Just wondering if you have heard a number and when this will be done by.....
