If it has an engine, mankind will have fun with it. Fun can be predicted and "controlled" to be as safe as it can. Poop happens even when you're not having fun. More often I'd argue with the BS statistics that I made up in my head!

If we banned every type of "entertainment" that killed any participant or spectator, it would be a dull and boring existence.

Along with the safety concerns around them, I am not a fan of my taxpayer dollars being used to 'thrill' some folks.

My state has a big tax-payer sponsored hole in the ground called the Grand Canyon which people fall into with some regularity.
It's a reactionary idea meant to get eyes on banner ads on a SEO'd internet posting. Like "Current Events Trolling for Dollars".
"Taxpayer Dollars" go for all sorts of things you may or may not agree with.

Also went to the CMA air show yesterday. Not a single flying act involving the military. Yes, air shows can be all civilian.
