airport operations supervisor position at some airports considered entry-level?

Hello all, I am wondering if the airport operations supervisor position at some airports is considered entry-level? I have been told that an airport operations supervisor position is not considered entry-level despite most requirements and duties are similar to airport operations coordinator, airport operations officer, etc. at other airports. I'm trying to convince them that airport operations supervisor, airport operations coordinator, and airport operations officer are different job titles for the exact same entry-level position.

Just because the job title has the word "supervisor" in it doesn't mean it is not entry-level, right? Is the word "supervisor" in airport operations supervisor position misleading?

In the absence of nationally standardized titles, any job title can mean whatever and carry whichever requirements seen fit by the airport.

When I worked for a LCC, the A/O Supervisor position was generally offered and 99.9 times out of 100 taken in house by either employees promoting at the same station, or employees at other stations. I've only seen the position offered to the public a few times, and that was generally in the case of opening hub operations in 3rd world countries. As a side note, the position did require a few years of aviation and management experience.

OP is asking about airport authority ops as in local government hiring people to administer part 139 regs and ensure compliance.

AAAE is as close to a unifying body as the profession has and they do not define terms or ranks if you will.

I was an airport ops supervisor at PIT with a semi relevant degree and a PPL with zero professional aviation industry experience. Is that entry level? I think so.

They could have replaced supervisor in my title with operator or any number of other titles. My immediate superiors were managers and the airfield ops head was director. You could shuffle all three titles under a cup and redistribute and some other airport would title that way instead.
