Airport Dilema

Well, to fix the problem would cost the city $110,000...so either pony up the money to fix it or live with a shorter runway. If they float some bonds and raise taxes at the airport a little bit I'm sure it can be paid for.

Tim, what's your view? you fly out of the airport, so you probably know better than us...

The city of Danbury seems to be very laid back, with anything to do with the airport. The one thing I do know is if the airport is closed, many, many people will not be happy. After all there are 15 FBO's here

$110,000 to negotiate for tree-cutting easements? Has anybody in Danbury ever heard of eminent domain?

There are plenty of abuses of eminent domain, but using it to trim trees to keep a public airport open sounds like a legitimate use.

I can fix the problem for the cost of a chain saw, fuel and bail
