Airplane Repo Men

If they haven't been keeping up payments, what makes you think they're keeping up maintenance and keeping the aircraft airworthy?

My HQ asked me to pick up an airplane (a 207 I had flown before) from a maintenance base once. One look at the cobwebs on the girl and I knew I wasn't flying her anywhere. A second look at her logs... well, let's just say the pilot that asked me to "handle this for us" was very surprised when I landed with my partner in a 208. I think they may have got someone else to do the job, though. There's always *someone* willing to fly *anything*...

Pilot safety risk aside, Im sure the FAA is willing to grant waivers on some of these flights. In the video they repo the aircraft to an airport less than 10 miles away in VFR conditions. To me it didnt even look like they retracted the gear.

i thought the comments thread on the article was pretty interesting... some people were super anti-rich-people and there was others who thought the repo guys were slimeballs.... interesting
