Yeah, from me, I know, rare ;)

Captain I was flying with was also a camera buff (and fellow Canon owner..he had a 40D) and let me try out his macro lens... night cockpit shot is out of focus but I liked the colors.

You know, just recently I took a very similar shot to the second one you've posted.

What was the lens used? I'd like to get a macro some time.

Here we may be able to see the difference between CRT and LCD:

It was a Canon EF 50mm , f/2.5

I'm thinking about picking up the Tamron 18-270mm. I have an 18-55 and a 75-300 but this one seems more all inclusive for day to day stuff plus it has the image stabilization.
 
Where was it that you went that you were landing at night? Every trip that I did on the ER ended during daylight.
