Airplane down in LA

Saw it on the news and it crashed a little over a mile from here. The next freeway exit over and you're there.

When it goes from spec to over the house to spec in less than a minute, I'd say it's over 250. I am no expert, but when I overhear pilots talking in a resturant on the field about how fast thet were going (i.e. over 250), and making it from CMA to WHP in less than 5 mins., I'd have to say that that would count as over 250kts, just using a simple E6B. I just hope it was quick. The guy was super nice, and his airplane was beautiful.

I am below 10k feet, airspace rules for speed limits need not apply for going over 250.

WHP. He flew a few times a week. The first time I meat him, he was fueling, and I saw him in between students. I had to get a close up look at his airplane because it was soo awsome.

I think the passenger was that friend I go to class with. Cant confirm until Monday, I guess.

After coming by WHP today I found out who he was. I actually did know him and even flew with him one time :( Quite sad that he went down, on the one flight I took with him it was eveident that he lived life to the fullest
