Airnet

Are you sure? We really need guys right now and you could do it part time. ;)

Seriously though - I met a Southwest Captain on a flight who said he used to work for Airnet. He just got this faraway look in his eye for a second, and said, "yup, that was some good flying."

I should look in my logbook to see if you are still flying some of the same old Barons and 310s I used to fly. Are they all still around?

310s are gone.
Two Barons are no longer with us along with their pilots.

What about the Aerostars and Cheiftans??

Did the Barons crash? When, where, how? I remember a 310 going down in a Kmart parking lot or something similar to it in the early '90s.

Aerostars are gone.:( If they were here I'd still be in the props.
Cheiftans are still running strong.
And we have added two dozen or so Caravans.

One Baron went into a lake. Inflight fire from the fuel flow gauge is suspected. The other one went in at CMH because of wake turbulence from a 757.

The Baron was always very reliable. Other than an engine failure and one other engine shutdown...never had any problems with it. Aerostars always seemed to be a mess though.

Is the Caravan a step between the Barons and the Lears?

I'll tell you right now, if I was furloughed today, Airnet would be one of two places I'd look at going (that would be considered a "lateral" move). In fact, it likely would be my first choice of the two...

Everyone I've known who has gone to work for Airnet has been good people. I think that was evident from those who went to Network JC in Vegas as well.

Naw Caravan is on the same level as the Barons and 'JOs.

My hats off to you guys...that's some hardcore flying. I flew more iced up approaches on that job where the windscreen was so obscured that you had to put the airplane in a slip to see the runway. Airports also seemed to stop snow plowing around 11pm....I seem to remember plowing my way to the runway with the props more than once at 2 or 3 in the morning.

I've heard a few people lately talking about a 'part-time' schedule - are they really hiring folks part time?? If so, how does that schedule work? You just tell 'em when you are available to fly??
