Well...it's 10:30 pm and I just got off the phone with my friend, an AirNet pilot, who gave me some encouraging words for my training class that starts tomorrow. I'll try to keep updating to let you know how it's going.

Oh by the way, I just wanted to say thanks to all who have posted on this site. It was a tremendous help for the interview. This company is where I want to be and I can't wait to complete my first run as a freight dawg.

Congratulations, I'd be interested to see what you have to say about training once it starts. I'm in the pool with Airnet waiting to be called in. Do you know the times of the other people that were called in by chance? I'm wondering if it's still around 1050 like you were, or lower, because when I got put in the pool it sounded like there was a very real possibility of being called in with lower time (I have 850tt right now). Just curious.

Are you calling in with updates to your times???
I almost made the mistake of not doing that. If you don't update they drop you out of the pool.

You bet I am, I'm totally psyched about working for Airnet. Craig said to just email him weekly with my updated times.

What did u do to make it into the pool at 850 TT. Did you ever work for Airnet or have several friends within the company? Just wondering, all I have been doing is updating my online application, im also at 850 and figured I would fax my resume and call when I got to 1000, but i'm wondering if I should do more to get into the pool and keep building time while i wait.
 
It's possible to get hired with 850, but like Zephyr, you won't go to training until around 1050. The people that go through training at low times tend to have worked at AirNet.

If you talk to Craig, he'll encourage you to apply as soon as you can, and update your application often. He loves it when pilots apply before they have enough total time and keep in touch because it shows loyalty.

I've definitely been updating my application on a monthly basis, but only the one online. Wondering if I should be faxing them my resume and maybe even calling? It doesn't surprise me that I haven't heard from them, but just wondering what I can do to put myself in the best place to get hired when I meet the mins.

Nope, I've never worked at Airnet and don't personally know anyone who has. I guess I might have gotten lucky. Go ahead and do the online application, what's the worst that can happen? I sent in my online app on 1/18 and had my phone interview 1/23 then personal interview 2/8 and offered the job 2/9, so it all happened real fast. I think their online application automatically weights your application somehow and figures out who to pursue.
 
Well I guess i'll just keep waiting for a phone call while i continue to update the application. Best of luck to you Zephyr, hopefully i'll catch a break and we will both be workin at Airnet by early summer.

First day of training was awesome! I get more and more excited about the company everytime I step into the AirNet building. We have an excellent instructor and today was a lot of paperwork and then regs.

Just to let yall know there is one person in the class with less than 1050 and he'll be signing an SIC contract and then do upgrade training after he reaches 1200. Myself and the 2 others will be signing PIC contracts and taking our PIC checkride at the end. The way I'm seeing it is that you can be interviewed and hired with less than 1000 but you will be placed in a pool until you reach 1000 upon which you'll receive a training date.

The online application is fine. They review online applications often. Make sure everything is accurate, though. The recruiters often complain that the biggest problem with the application is accuracy and completeness. It is automated and will turn down applications that don't meet their requirements. Even if you meet their requirements they may never see it if it gets dumped. So, make it a habit to update once a month and give them a follow-up call for the update. I did the online application a little over a year ago and was hired within a month. I can't stress accuracy and completeness enough. Many, many applications get ignored by the system until they are accurate and complete.

Not big enough with the run closings. I wonder if they are going to have these guys sitting reserve at places like TEB or BHM.
I also guess my solo flying nights are close to ending.
 
Here's a question i hate to have to ask. In 2004 my liscense was suspended for 6 months because i didn't respond to a traffic ticket. Thankfully i haven't gotten a DUI or anything, but i was an idiot for letting that happen. Do you think that is something they see and automatically write me off or bypass my application?

Are you getting an SIC soon?
