I think that as a condition of the bank bailouts, check 21 should have gone away, bringing a renaissance of the fine art of check hauling.

Couldn't agree with you more. It sure is fun flying those things around. Its a shame that sooner or later it may all disappear. But I'm still hoping it wont.

Still no word from Mr. White, so I'm guessing this is a no... Shouldn't they have at least sent a "Thanks for applying and good luck on your job search" email though? A bit disconcerting that they didn't.

Think of this as a perfect opportunity for a follow-up from you. As you thank them for their time try to gain insight into where in the process you are and why you fell short. Present yourself as the friend they want to hire...assuming you have the min req.
