Airnet Competitive

Email your suggestions to the FAC.
There is a meeting on the 9th of next month.

Still trying to work out the bugs. Once I can't think of any flaws, I'll forward them so others can. I figure if I can think of flaws, and they're my ideas...they've got to be bad. :laff:

Yes you can get hired into a base but you have to have it in writing that you are hired on those terms. Not just discuss it with CW. However I haven't actually talked to anyone yet that has done it, but a while back the company sent out an email that included info on the hire into base deal.

You have to realize this isn't like a regional where there are a handful of bases with multiple runs per base. Many airnet bases only have one or two runs. Moving is the main downside to working here as far as I'm concerned. Remember you do also get moving days that you can take. The number depends on how far you move but could be up to one week or only a day or two.

You get the most days off by first heading to you assignment after checkride which will allow a day or two to drive depending on location. Then take your moving days later after you have secured a place to live.

Makes sense. Let's tell the people that already work here LMAO.

...And once again we come back to your responsibility to have all your questions answered before you come to training instead of publicly griping about your brand new job LMAO not really.

I don't regret my decision to come to Airnet at all. What's your problem?

If someone does ask the question, I'm going to give straight answers. That's how I am. Sorry if that rubs ya wrong.

I think the company could do it better...when I figure out a better idea, I'll see if those that matter agree. Now that I'm actually flying, there are things I thought I would do differently that I would say are being done very well and there are things I thought were being done well that I would change if I was in charge. Lucky for me, I'm not.

...once again, it's a great place to be right now just understand what you're getting into ahead of time. 'Tis what 'tis.

Complainer!

Do you see anyone else that works at Airnet coming on here and telling other people that they think they have better ideas than management. Submit it to the FAC and quit airing dirty laundry. No company is perfect but at the end of the day at Airnet, the good outweighs the bad. Good luck!

When you write on here it sounds bad b/c of how you say it...it rubs us the wrong way!

You rub me the wrong way.

so here is a question...Lets say i already have 1500TT, and i go into airnet as PIC, am i gonna have an SIC? or does it just depend? does everyone pair up on every flight or ?

Totally depends...many variables.

It's above my pay grade...if Dispatch says "you have an SIC this week" then I do. If not, then I assume I'm solo.

Crap shoot.

Many Baron runs have SICs.

Some Chieftain runs have SICs, but not many.

No Caravan runs have SICs.

All Lear runs have SICs. ;)

You can control it.
Don't bid a baron only run.
As Ian pointed out, some Chieftains are getting SICs now.

If you're going to float, you're kind of at the mercy of what ya draw. I've been fortunate so far. I only had one SIC that I wanted to throw out the window at 500' on climbout. Everything was fine until he started touching my controls (my policy is "my leg, I fly...your leg, you fly. I don't touch unless I have to save us from violation or death...you don't touch either) and lecturing on the "proper" way to do everything...oddly enough the "proper" way was nothing like the profiles. Other than that, everyone's been great.

That said, if you really don't want an SIC, it seems that one or maybe both of the PHX runs are still open. Bid those! Lake Havasu is nice this time of year...:D

Thanks for the response. I found it on the website after I asked...Amazing the power of the net!
I am a currently a dual rated Commercial Helicopter/AMEL, with 3600 TT and 275 FW/60 MEL. I saw on the website that they prefer ASEL and CFI/MEI.
Do they hire with helicopter time as TT?
Would they consider me without the ASEL and CFI's?

I ask only so that I have some answers befor bombarding HR with the same questions, and thanks for your help.

Sincerely,
BUM

I happen to be dual rated as well and work at Airnet.

Sure - TT is TT. They don't specify airplane specific time. They told me when I applied that they prefer 500 hours of airplane time, but they can waive it.

As for ASEL - you couldn't fly a Caravan without it - so I don't know.

As for CFIs - we have hired non-CFIs.
