There's a base in the middle of Iraq. And all four branches of the military are stationed there.

The Marine says, "oh, man. This is great. I've been sleeping in a leaky tent for 30 days. God, it's nice to sleep in a place with a roof over my head."

The Army soldier steps out the shower and says, "God, this is so cool. Hot water. I've been taking cold showers for the past 30 days and does it ever feel good to have warm water."

The sailor sits up in his bunk and says, "Man, it is so nice to have a bunk that I can sit up in without banging my head. And how cool is it to not have to have my head right next to someone's feet!"

The Air Force guy grabs the remote, pushes a few buttons and says, "What the hell? No cable?"

You don't know how true this "joke" really is... of the four (five with the CG) I would say the AF does have the highest standards of living.

When I was in Kuwait we had steak and lobster night for crying out loud!

Don't forget "Fate is the Hunter" by Gann. A from the cockpit look at the biz from pre-WWII to psot WWII.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's on my "to read list" along with North Star Over My Shoulder. After I get these two classes out of the way and pass my Comm written, I'll probably pick them up.

This is true...the Air Force definately has the most civilian luxuries. If, however, you judge a branch of the military by it's civilian luxuries....

....maybe you should reconsider!!!

I grew up Army, but now I'm part of the AF (GS civilian now). I still like to get the AF guys going by saying "you know if we ever went to war with the Army, I think "we would lose." Then I sit back and watch the fireworks. Hehe :-)

Usually when we have ROTC competitions down here it is all in forest areas. We do competitions in marching sometimes and the Army is the only branch that it's uniforms look good outside. Air Force uniforms looks crappy hen you got green all around you.

Brian, I was in JROTC, too. DO NOT base your opinions on JROTC units.....

Why not? Im talking about uniforms wich look just like the real unforms for the branches. The AF unforms for JROTC and the real USAF uniforms looks the same.

It's not tha same thing...the uniforms aren't maintained to the same standards, even. They're not worn to the same standards, and height/weight restrictions aren't adhered to the same.

That's just the beginning....

Believe me, I was a JROTC geek too, but they aren't even close...

Just make sure your sources are credible (don't quote anyone from the chemtrails site, for example), and state your sources.

[/ QUOTE ]

Kellwolf, what's your problem? Why are you accusing the chemtrails website of some sort of lack of credibility?

LOL!

Don't kill me, Mike. It came from another guy wearing railroad tracks.

[/ QUOTE ]

Tony, how could I kill you if you're preaching the truth? That crap is more true than you think!

Get this, and this is no sh%t: (and don't kill me Lloyd, I'm just the messenger)

When I was in Kuwait flying Operation Southern Watch patrols, there was a guy that worked in acquisitions at the base. He leaked out a report of some of the stuff the Air Force was buying and getting shipped to the theatre. The monetary figures I quote aren't exact, but are close:

-$9000, for executive pillows for senior officers
-$11,000 for expresso/cappucino machines.

...and by far, the BEST of all:

-$12,000 for imported sand for volleyball courts.

Again, this is no sh&t.

Ok, but blue still looks bad outside in the woods.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not if you're in the blue light district.

No doubt about that!!

Did you know that the Marines and Army also have blue uniforms?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes. I blieve they are called dress-blues?

Why does the USMC uniform look like they stole a piece of unform from each branch?

What did they steal? The Marine Corps actually has history built into it's uniform...

What looks as if it were stolen?

Psst, Brian, never ever ever ever try to pick a fight with a Marine. If they beat you up, they love it. If you can actually beat THEM up, they love it too because it gives 'em something to fight for next time they catch you slipping!

Dancing with those Navy guys on cruise makes 'em kind of fiesty!
