Airline Mins. Multi?

When an airline requires 200 hours of multi time as part of their mins. Does this include all multi time such as SIC, PIC, and Simulator Time? In other words can I count any Multi time that I have towards the required Mins?

Thanks

I think it includes all Multi time; or the multi time that you can include in TT when you put it in your logbook.

SIC and PIC both count. If you've got sim time, be carefull how you count it. DO NOT include sim time you got in a non-visual, non-motion sim. Frasca's and other similar devices are NOT considered real twin time. However, if you've got time in full motion simulators and the FAA approves your course of study, that time is loggable as multi time assuming your instructor signs you off for dual given. Be carefull how you log SIC, make sure the airplane you're flying requires an SIC, or the rules you're operating under require an SIC. Otherwise the interviewer will eat your lunch...

I wouldn't bother logging any simulator time as flight time. Nada, none, zippo, zero. It is questionable time, and it's better to be conservative.

Realistically speaking, what you think is a 'simulator' is actually a flight training device. If you count Frasca or AST-300 time as "total" time in your logbook or try to count it as multi-engine time, you're going to create a sticky situation that you don't want to have pop up during an interview.

I'm gonna have to differ with FlyChicaga on this....

My 48 hours of DC-10-30 and 747-400 sim time is what put me over the top to get my job at Pinnacle.... if i didn't log that time, I wouldn't be flying a CRJ now and wouldnt be a captain in 12 months.

If it's level D, full motion sim and signed off...definitely log it as multi-time. I am forever thankful that I did. Not to mention completely changed the way I operated an aircraft....handflying a 400,000 pound jet on an NDB approach will kick your butt into shape real quick!, haha. What kind of sim time do you have?

Now was that "simulator time" or was that "flight training device" time? There's a world of difference.

In my case flight simulator.... at northwest training corp..

Just wanted to clear that up!

I get the nagging suspicion that the question is being asked about a flight training device ie a Frasca, AST, etc.

I'm trying to elucidate that what most people think is a flight simulator is actually a flight training device.

right on.... I bow in homage to the grand poobah of jetcareers...... (shuffles off refusing to look upon your presence for fear of blindness from the light)

Geez, it's not like I'm this guy!

I was indeed speaking of an FTD. Thanks for all the replies that were actually informative.

Doug, that looks just like this guy that comes into my work all of the time... same color garbs, same glasses.... he kind of looks at me in a... strange way.

Maybe he wants you...;)

Hey, speaking of that, someone I know in your Altanta office got to spend some time in Delta's FTDs, and got to fly an "approach" into ATL.

Lucky girl. I told her to get the person who took her there to sign a log book for an hour of dual received, multi engine, turbine time.

On a related note, I have been taught that I CAN log instrument approaches towards my instrument currency on a Frasca. Does that sound legit?
