To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable professional to join our team as an Airline Dispatcher in our Flight Operations Department. The positions primary responsibility is flight planning and monitoring, considering aircraft performance and loading, en route winds, thunderstorm and turbulence forecasts, airspace restrictions, and airport conditions. All flights require a dispatcher to sign off before they can take the flight. Considering the conditions above, this signature deems the flight safe to depart. The successful candidate will hold a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Operations.<br>Essential Duties:<br><ul><li>Plan and monitor the progress of an aircraft journey using software tools<br></li><li>Monitor and advise the flight crew of any circumstances or changes that might affect flight safety<br></li></ul><br>Job Qualifications and Competencies:<br><ul><li>FAA Aircraft DispatcherCertificate<br></li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills<br></li><li>Ability to remain calm in high pressure situations<br></li><li>Computer literacy<br></li></ul><br>Preferred Qualifications:<br><ul><li>Previous experience as a dispatcher<br></li></ul><br>Work Environment:<br><ul><li>Fast-paced office environment, use of telephones, computers, and other office equipment<br></li><li>All shifts including weekdays, weekends, nights, holidays and/or irregular shifts<br></li></ul><br>Physical Requirements:<br><ul><li>Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds<br></li></ul><br>The above statements provide a brief description of the general nature of work performed and are not intended to be a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required for this position.
