JT3 Las Vegas, Nevada:
Under limited supervision, performs airfield management functions and activities, coordinates with aircrews, air traffic control, and various base agencies that provide for safe operation of aircraft in the airfield environment and through national and international airspace.
  • Processes flight data with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Defense (DOD), or International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) facilities via telecommunications systems.
  • Assists aircrews with flight planning, briefs pilots on airfield hazards, taxi routes, and active runway.
  • Performs airfield inspections to include runways, aprons, arresting systems, signs and airfield lighting.
  • Ensures Notices to Airmen (NOTAMS) are received and processed.
  • Coordinates and monitors airfield repair activities ensuring positive control of personnel working on the airfield.
  • Performs airfield response for wildlife, foreign object debris and other flight safety hazards.
  • Coordinates and processes prior permission required (PPR) requests.
  • Operates computer terminal to record the daily events log.
  • Determines and disseminates Runway Surface Conditions (RSC) and Runway Condition Readings (RCR) to appropriate agencies.
  • Initiates secondary crash net in response to in-flight emergencies, ground accidents or incidents.Assists in the coordination and direction of snow removal operations.
  • Performs other related duties and tasks as assigned.

Each employee must read, understand, and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to their job.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The work is performed in an office setting in a temperature-controlled environment. Indoor duties are performed on an even surface, which may be carpet, tile or concrete. Indoor surfaces are typically dry.
Frequent use of a computer is required. Work is primarily sedentary in a Base Operations environment; however, some walking, stooping, bending, climbing stairs, stretching and lifting (up to 40 pounds) is required. Must have good visual acuity and the ability to discern all colors of the spectrum. There may be times when prolonged times spent operating vehicles or extensive range travel may be required.
