Aircraft Rental

I am looking to rent something with about 6 seats over new years. Needs to be a single engine and reasonable in price. I have 155TT PPL/Instrument and the guy flying with me has 600TT Comercial/CFI/CFII somewhere in the state of MS, AL, FL, GA, TN..anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Good luck with that. I cant think of any place Ive rented from or heard of that has a six seater for rental (especially a single) in south GA/AL, or anywhere in FL.

However I do know some places with some fast singles...230hp+ types

a 4 seater would do. something like a bonanza...what kind of planes are you talking about?

You have to expect most flight schools, or rental companies to have the "standard" planes..C152,C172,C182, PA-28s, Diamonds,etc...Stuff like that. Looking for a rental Bonanza would be quite tough. The best thing Ive found so far is at the place I rent from down here in Ft. Lauderdale. Airbornesystems at FXE rents a brand new C182T with the G1000s. Freakin beautiful bird with a 235hp engine and over a 5hr endurance. If you dont want to spend 6hrs getting checked out on the garmins they also have brand new cessnas witht he old stacks.

Hey Ian, there's a bonanza for rent out of a club up here at KAPA, it's around 120-130 an hour and needs a 5 or so hour checkout. just fly it down south :p

Is that the one at Flyers, or whatever they're called now?

No, there's a much smaller and more reasonable club on the field that has 6 airplanes, I honestly don't know what their name is.

Ah ok. I used to instruct out there at the Aero Club before I left for Lakes about 7 months ago.

Actually that's probably Centennial Flyers. Or that's what they used to call them selves. The owners renamed the club a few months ago so I don't remember what they're called now. I used to freelance instruct out there as well for a bit before things got too slow and I had to go look elsewhere for a full time instructing gig. Anyways if I remember correclty, they have three 172's, one gutless cutlass, one 152 and that bonanza that requires a 10 hour checkout. The prices and club dues were cheap compared to other places and it's a great place to rent from so long as you're not looking to try and instruct full time there.
