Airbus in my opinion makes great airplanes. They stopped making good looking ones after the A340 though.

Next week I'll be flying in an A320 followed by a 737. Well see who passes the test.

I think the picture is making humor out of the new generation of long-haul aircraft...we'll all be flying around in skyscrapers in the future.

I think there's a big difference between saying something looks ugly and saying he wouldn't flight it for a living. I agree with him a lot of new jets are ugly. But I think flying an Airbus would be cool with the sidestick. That little table opens to make it very easy to balance your checkbook err I mean company paperwork. When I take trips I do purposely book Boeing planes over Airbus planes for two main reasons: 1. The international carriers I fly on have more premium seating in their Boeing planes which gives me a greater chance for my free upgrade(AMEX rocks). 2. The Airbus is too quiet. The sounds of engines help me fall asleep.

I dont want to fly for the airlines. Grow Up, Never say that to a Boeing family, My dad worked on them for 11 years, Letting the cirrculated air get to your face on the 767. He aslo made sure pilots could piss in the cockpit. Sorry, I am an American who likes American aircraft becasue Boeing is a huge, huge part of our economy today, and airbus is starting to 'kick' them out. Can you believe there is a Airbus Factory in the US??!!!
I could go into alot more pollitical stuff, but I'll avoid that.

I am an American who likes American aircraft becasue Boeing is a huge, huge part of our economy today, and airbus is starting to 'kick' them out. Can you believe there is a Airbus Factory in the US??!!!

Not to sound harsh but that is some BS logic. If something is made in the US then it is American-made. I consider the Honda Civic (North Carolina), Camry( California mostly ex GM workers) to be American-made products that add jobs and money into the American economy.

Meh, Airbus' sales tactics aren't the most ethical. Being explicitly subsidized must be nice, unlike Boeing who is more of an implicit subsidy

Like I said don't confuse the two I think Airbus is dirty just not as dirty as (the US government) Boeing. I just have a problem when airlines can't do a true A-B comparison to find out what plane is best for them. Many airlines in Europe fly Boeing products. The same cannot be said for traditionally strong US allies. Do you really think the Airbus product is ever going to be flung by EL AL, or some of the Japanese carriers?

Now that was a very mature and rational arguement...from an eight year old? LOL...dude how frickin old are you 15? Lets try not to turn this thread into a Boeing vs. Airbus thread. And for the record I also favor Boeing aircraft my favoirte being the 757 and 777. But I also like Airbus products such as the A320 series of aircraft the A330,A300 and surprisingly the A380.

All I'm saying is that I used to think like you. Then I joined JC and grew the • up! Refusing to fly for a certain airline solely because of the type of equipment they have is both immature and stupid.

Okay, then. So, what would you say to an Airbus airframe with Honeywell avionics, Goodrich brakes and components, and GE engines? Is that an American plane or not?

And what would you say about a Boeing airframe, with Rolls engines, Smiths avionics, and Messier brakes and components? Is that an American plane or not?

And what about a 737 with a set of CFM engines? What do you call CFM, anyway, since it's a collaboration between an American and French company? Or what about IAE? You've got American, Japanese, and British companies there.

I can understand where you're coming from though. I am Brazilian so obviously I like Embraer over Bombardier. However, when it is time for me to step into the cockpit, it can be any aircraft, I honestly don't care. Yes some of them would be better over others, but you are still flying and the view out the window is the same. Plus, each aircraft has it's own unique features, which is why I like them all.

I think it'd be more appropriate to say, "If it ain't Embraer, I ain't goin' there". Of course, the Bombardier people would shoot back, "If it ain't Bombardier, I think I would rather stay" and then the Airbus people say "But I am le tired."
