To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!</p> <p><strong>Job Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li><p>Provide services in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations, Army regulations, FM 3-04.303, Air Traffic Services Facility Operations, Training, Maintenance, and Standardization, and other applicable directives.</p> </li> <li><p>Control air traffic within PAAF’s air traffic area that encompasses a horizontal radius of five statute miles from the center of the airport extending from the surface up to, but not including an altitude of 2,500 feet above the airport elevation.</p> </li> <li><p>Maintain a current file of pertinent regulations, manuals, charts, maps, and training materials.</p> </li> <li><p>Develop and maintain a facility training program.</p> </li> <li><p>Monitor the control tower frequency published in the FLIP enroute supplement continually during the hours of operation.</p> </li> <li><p>Utilize the primary crash alarm as directed by AR 95-26, AR 385-95, and PAAF Pre-accident Plan. Activate the primary crash alarm whenever the ATC facility is alerted to an aircraft emergency.</p> </li> <li><p>Operate the control panel of airport lighting systems during hours of operation IAW FAA Handbook 7110-65 or other appropriate directives.</p> </li> <li><p>Monitor NAVAID equipment and notify the PAAF NAVAID Maintenance Technician of any interruptions or outages. Any outages requiring a NOTAM are coordinated with Dispatch. Notify Dispatch when repairs are complete to update NOTAM.</p> </li> <li><p>Notify Potomac TRACON (via landline circuit) and Dispatch upon opening and closing of tower operations. Tower clocks shall be checked and set with Approach Control at the beginning of each shift.</p> </li> <li><p>Ensure the clear and audible recording of all radio circuit communications for the control tower. Circuits, frequencies and positions of operation to be recorded shall be IAW the priorities of FM 3-04.303.</p> </li> <li><p>Retain recordings IAW FM 3-04.303 or other pertinent directives.</p> </li> <li><p>Provide copies of recordings to the COR or lawfully appointed investigation boards within 24 hours and transcripts within 72 hours, when requested, in the format specified in FM 3-04.303.</p> </li> <li><p>Maintain good housekeeping practices at all time and keep work area free of clutter to ensure safe emergency exit routes.</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Minimum Qualification:</strong></p> <ul> <li><p>Employee shall possess a current FAA Air Traffic Control Specialist Certificate (FAA form 7220-1), and recent air traffic controller experience.</p> </li> <li><p>In accordance with AR 40-501 (Standards of Medical Fitness), ATC’s will meet the same medical qualification requirements as those for Department of Army Civilians as outlined in Office of Personnel Management Operating Manual: Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, GS-2152, Air Traffic Control Series (DD Form 2992, Medical Recommendation for Flying Duty, signed by a Flight Surgeon of any military service).</p> </li> <li><p>Employee shall possess appropriate qualification and recent experience in pertinent areas of Air Traffic Control, Terminal and military aviation</p> </li> <li><p>Employee must be a US citizen, able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance and speak fluent English (English is the Contract Language) as a condition of employment.</p> </li> <li><p>Work may require employee to operate government and privately owned motor vehicles. Employee must possess a current driver’s license.</p> </li> <li><p>Employee may be required to work overtime or irregular hours as required by the mission.</p> </li> <li><p>Employee must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.</p> </li> <li><p>Employee must excel working in a collaborative environment that focuses on excellence and customer satisfaction.</p> </li> </ul> <p>We are an equal opportunity employer.
