Federal Aviation Administration SeaTac, Washington:<BR />This position is located in the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), System Operations Services AJR-0, System Operations Security, AJR-2, Special Operations Security Group, AJR-25. The office supports the mission and Core functions of the System Operations Security Directorate. Conducts National Special Security Event (NSSE), very important person (VIP), law enforcement (LE), and classified operations planning and coordination. <strong>Duties</strong> <p> <p>The Air Traffic Control Specialist serves as an FAA Air Defense Liaison Officer (ADLO) for the Western Air Defense Sector (WADS). The employee has direct involvement in identifying, tracking, analyzing, reporting, and resolving military and federal law enforcement operational system problems. Conceives, plans, and directs studies to provide resolution referrals on other specified air traffic problems to the appropriate military, FAA service, headquarters, or service units. Works directly with the Department of Defense, federal law enforcement, and intelligence agencies, concerning classified movement or support of aircraft in support of special operations, and with the United States Secret Service (USSS) concerning the movement and security of the President of the United States and special security<br>events identified by Presidential Decision Directive 62 (PDD-62).</p><p>Applies experience and expert technical knowledge of air traffic control procedures and operations, as well as expert technical knowledge of air traffic management and operations within the National Airspace Space (NAS). Develops approaches and procedures for all military traffic flow management programs and exercises. Develops, coordinates, and monitors operational programs and procedures for executing sensitive/classified requirements. Identifies, defines, and organizes work for multiple work activities. Acquires and allocates resources to accomplish work activities within established schedules. Independently commits resources. As a recognized expert, coordinates the air traffic role in national defense joint operational planning for both classified and unclassified emergency war plans and training, to include counter-drug and counter-terrorist contingencies.</p><p>Contacts are internal and external. Often represents the FAA at the national level as the agencys focal point for major projects or programs. Provides oversight of agreements between the FAA, the military, and other federal agency entities to ensure operational consistency and compatibility. Serves as a senior advisor on the staff of the Air Operations Center (AOC) Commander. Advises the AOC Commander of the availability and utilization of FAA facilities and equipment, as well as current air traffic control (ATC) procedures to effectively accomplish the AOCs mission in the areas of peacetime training, tactical operations, security incidents, threats of war, and actual wartime operations. Maintains a close working relationship with the appropriate AOC personnel.</p>Broad policies and objectives provide general guidance for addressing issues, but almost always require the development of new and innovative approaches. Often recommends new policies. Recommends organizational positions on major programs and issues to agency management. Prepares and reviews reports or policies for internal and external distribution. Agency managers accept work products as technically authoritative, though work is reviewed for success in achieving desired results, effectiveness, and consonance with agency goals and objectives. </p>
