Anyone heard of this POS company? Their on climbto350 advertising "NO SALARY" First Officer positions in a metroliner. Quote "This no salery position is available to short-time pilots who desire to build time in a twin-turbine aircraft.....This position requires that the candidate pay $3,500 for ground school, flight training and a SA227 checkride" Haha and they even want you to note in your cover letter to the company that you understand it is a "no salary" position.

This makes me want to puke and slug anyone who tells me they are an FO for Air One Express.

Ooohhh . . . I wonder if I can apply, interview and then tell them how silly they are!!!:rawk:

yeah that would be fun to apply and get done with everything. then when it comes time to sign on the dotted line that says "no salary" tell them you thought they were joking.

Ya I saw this BS on climbto350 too. I've been waiting for someone on here to say something about it. The sad thing is, there will be someone who'll take it as much as it sucks...giving another good blow to this industry and lowering pay standards for all of us. Maybe I am going to get alot of flack for saying this, but one of these days it'd be nice to see the whole pilot community to rise up together and demand that we won't be walked over anymore instead of walking on other pilots to get where we want to be without caring what happens to the industry. Ok rant over.

I always thought it would be cheaper to get a job at an FBO/FlightSchool, then offer to right seat on some kingair flights, and make connections that way. Oh well, I guess my way of thinking is antiquated (sarcasm)

Geez Lloyd, she said there were a bunch of 'em, but just how many quotes do you have on the quotable Lindsey list?

I guarantee you for that ONE position, they will get at least 100 resumes from pilots willing to pay $3,500 and then fly for free. That's the sad reality.

You get paid with fun and enjoyment of working....Anyone have a phone number, id love to call them.

Note the company only requires a Comm-IFR-Multi as a minimum.

There's probably some young guy who's gonna think that paying $3500 here to get turbine multi time is worth it, as opposed to getting CFI-I-MEI. And since s(he) lives at this companies base, they'll live at home with parents (free rent, food, etc.)

THAT'S the ideal candidate the company is hoping for.

Dude, I am ready lets start the madness. We all need to stop letting the man use our love of flying aginst each other. National Pilots Union is it poss. or am I dreaming.

National Pilots Union is it poss. or am I dreaming.

What will that do? That still won't stop companies from offering this kind of "volunteer" position. And, it still won't stop young, freshly rated Comm-Ins-ME rated pilots from doing this to build some quick multi, turbine time.

After building time, they'll bail out. Sadly, they'll still get a job somewhere regardless of how they got their multi turbine time. It's largely about connections. A 25 year old Gulfstream (PFT) guy got hired at Continental last year... aparently, the son of someone high up in Continental's ranks.

"aparently, the son of someone high up in Continental"

Son of a scab. Hey, I think I just created a new cuss word...

"You son of a scab"

Most people would just look at you funny if you say that, though.

That's funny, Don!

So now instead of "Your Momma was a _______ <fill in the blank>"

It'll be 'Your Daddy was a Scab!"
