Air India plane crash

It was a DC-9, but yeah, that one was bad.

Delta was the 727 without the flaps in DFW and that's why we have Sterile Cockpit...which we ALL follow, but only one will come along shortly to tell us how he's the best at it.

Yeah thats right. And wasn't the DAL one where they were literally talking about the United crash on the CVR while they forgot to put out takeoff flaps and everyone died a few minutes later?

I remember AA 1420 because it happened on my home turf. I was in junior high at the time. Aside from TWA 800, the crash I seem to recall the most was Swissair 111. What a terrifying sequence of events. Stuff of horrors.

Through the 80s and 90s, there were at least 3-4 121 accidents with fatalities almost every year in the US. It's amazing how much safer commercial flying has become.
you really don't comment on anything besides accident threads, do you?

There’s a handful of shows that made a lasting impression on me. Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood, Wild Kingdom, Electric Company, and all those PBS military documentaries.
Um...excuse me. Lest anyone forget Square One Television?

I mean Mathnet was a religion M-F every afternoon. I had to see how the case concluded and if we were ever going to see Martha Frankly.

Yeah, the DFW no flaps DL 727 crew was talking about how the CO DEN DC9 winter storm crash had the pilots talking about FAs "dating habits" on the CVR. Only for their conversation to also be on a CVR lol as FAs chilled in the cockpit while they were in line distracting them then they took an intersection takeoff out of config.

That's why I'm careful when I cast stones and either throw a rock at the face or don't pick one up at all.

EDIT: Oh, btw that Delta crew, several dozen pax and some FAs survived IIRC and the pilots had to live with killing their pax and coworkers. I think I'd rather just go with them tbh. I can't imagine coming to peace with that guilt. Another reason I'm a checklist enthusiast. People smarter than me have done crap like this.
