Air India plane crash

I broke down and paid for premium, but it's been worth it. All cars, baseball, history, and cooking, and whatever weird thing my wife watches to screw up my algorithm. But by in large it exclusively shows me things I'm interested in.

Honest question.
How is it better than regular Youtube with ad block?

That was intentional, I rarely see anyone using real names here and figured that was standard practice. If youre familiar with these internet talking heads then it’s really not difficult to know who I’m talking about. If you’re saying I won’t get any blowback, then its CW Lemoine and yes he brings Mover on his channel very regularly.

Isn't "Mover" named CW Lemoine? I'm confused :)

Wrap up the investigation! Captain Steve has it concluded!

What a joke the internet is

I am by no means an expert but this knucklehead is wrong. There are a lot of aftermath videos of the wreckage on IG and one in particular there are a bunch of locals walking on one of the wings. At one point they try to flip it over. The flaps appear to be retracted. Now I have no idea if the impact put them in that position or what position they are in, but they are definitely retracted.
Warning: If you plan to look for this footage be warned that it is gruesome. There are quite a few charred remains scattered around. There was no way I was going to post it here.

Ungh. Ad block. Until I have the ability to Server Lease Payment Block… :)
Yeah, yeah, I have JC allow-listed. I let Google Ad Services see my whole ass on here (despite their subsequent repeated requests to restore the block).

I mostly watch YouTube with the app on my TV, so I’m not sure if adblocker would work for that, but yeah. Nice being able to download longer videos to watch offline on deadheads or commutes too. There’s just rarely anything on any airlines IFE that I have any interest in seeing anymore.

Rumot going around now is captains seat slid back on rotation and he pulled the thrust levers to idle with him.

All the more reason, as I stated before, keep your paws OFF the thrust levers once after V1 and until thrust reduction. ;)

Yeah, I’m looking at you Younited buddy @Ian_J ;)

At least if your seat slides back, you won’t take the thrust levers with you.

Per our book that wouldn’t be an issue. Hands off at V1… hands back on at gear retraction.

I remember the first time I learned that cockpit seats and their tracks were a RII, initially it seemed like an odd thing. It’s pretty important for the nut behind the yoke to stay put, in fact there’s a reason for the balls hanging from the center post of the windshield. I wonder if those are addressed in the MEL? I never looked it up but I can remember reading a well crafted and light hearted description of them here a long time ago.

And the F/O didn't, you know. Push them back up?

Not sure how credible the source I read this on is, but the CA was a line training captain. If that’s true, possibility it was leg 1 of OE and if that happened it could have been a startle factor and the FO trying to process what is happening at such a critical phase of the short flight. But I agree, green as lettuce I’d still go “let’s throw those back up cap-ee-tan”

No idea about this source or accuracy, so take it for what it’s worth:

Boomer captain showed me this. Looked like it came in the form of an email chain circa 2005. I didn’t have the heart to tell him it was BS.
