Air India makes emergency ldg at LAX

I wonder if it was one of more former students.... :)

But therein lies a question for the neophytes. What scenarios would you dump fuel and which scenarios would you land overweight?
 
that's funny.. cuz i heard "germany bound plane" on the news this morning...and it's actually Air India...

hmmm two different sides of the globe...

Air India has some weird 5th freedom flights... They fly ORD-LHR with a 747. Air NZ flies LAX-HNL, so does ANA, I think.
 
Once upon a time, the airline I work for had a FRA hub with 727's... Man, I'd be on that like a Wisconsinite on a pack of "squeaky" two-color cheese curds if it was still around.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Whenever mom asks me or my brother if there's anything we want from home, my brother always responds "Point Special beer & cheese curds", my response "Linenkugels beer & cheese curds". :)
