Air Force Aircraft Structural

I am going to be going into the Air Guard for Aircraft Structural maintenance and am wondering how it potentially could transfer to the civilian world.

I am not sure this is the career path I would like to move towards in the end, but it is always good to have options.

There are tons of options for you once you return to the civilian world, the whole of the aviation and related industries is open to you. The majority of guys I work with are former military. You can easily transition into working for aeronautical companies such as Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop, and the like. Military contractors would be easy to work for with your connections as well and so would civilian G-jobs.

One of my coworkers (former maintenance) worked in Saudi earning 6 figures for a couple years after leaving the service, another worked on building F-22s in Texas, and another ran an overhaul division for GE engines.

So if you want to stay in the aviation business you'll be fine, outside of that you'll have good experience and leadership qualities that employers will like so you should have plenty of opportunities.
