Air Cargo Carriers anyone?

Do you think it would be a better move to go to Air cargo carriers or a regional (colgan)?

That is a good question. I was thinking about the same kind of stuff. Is it worth the lower pay and upgrade time at Colgan to get 121 time and some glass cockpit stuff (assuming you get one of the aircraft that have it)?

I was talking to a FedEx captain and he said they are starting to look for more people that have "Glass" time, or he said something like "people that can punch buttons. For us 6 pack guys, that might be a small battle to get into particular airlines. But guys from ACC have moved onto majors, so who really knows. :) I am kind of in the middle, 121 but caveman tech. We are also the smallest 121, so for those hiring boards that know about our ops, they may not be as impressed as someone coming from a bigger regional (real part 121, not 120.5)... :)

And for those that got hired or are interviewing with ACC, best of luck! I think the shorts would be cool to fly!

Definitely regional. More room to network, more flying, better equipment, union, more time off, more varied route network.

Hey what times did the acc captains have when they went to brown purple and delta?

Not really flight time, connections and 'other' stuff.

I just got a call to interview and have a couple questions. Where does ACC do its training? What is a typical schedule like for a new hire (how much time I could expext sitting reserve)? Has anyone interviewed recently and be willing to share some gouge?

I believe they do the majority of their training in Milwaukee and then the last week or so in New York. I also know that they do not give you any information about your base or schedule until after you have completed training (and signed a large training contract).

Im pretty sure training is in Mil, WI. I got a call from HR to verify my times and she said would forward to flight department. Haven't heard anything yet though. Are they providing you transportation to the interview?
