Air Ben Aircraft?

Does anyone know about the condition of the aircraft at ARI? I heard they were beat up Duchess aircraft that are constantly down for repair. Also, does anyone know anything about the housing at Ari?:laff:

Most of the airplanes are 30+ years old and have been training aircraft, haggard would be an understatement but usually no more then three of them are down at a time. There are two options for housing, there is vero beach or the pines. I was at vero beach and the houses were decent. I didn't care for the tile floors and electric stoves but other then that I really don't have any complaints about it.

WTF? What to you prefer?

Wow...I can honestly say that I have never seen a gas stove.
Problem solved! ;)

Or... for the less modern...

In addition... most "true" Chef's would never be caught dead cooking on electric... gas all the way baby! ;)

Had one of those installed when I built my last house. They're not all that.., burners run too hot even on the lowest setting and the glass gets scuffed up no matter how careful or what cleaner you use on them! My next stove is gonna be Gas! :)

Hmm, my GF is a pro chef and like the previous poster said-wouldnt be caught dead using anything else. You must be thinking about short-order cooks at the Awful House serving up their smothered, covered, chunked, topped and diced. Hmmmmm....

For the love of Pete, would y'all please learn to spell "Duchess?" :panic:

It's not "Dutchess" - it's "Duchess." No t.

Thank you. Carry on.

Haggard is certainly the word.

Some are actually in pretty good condition for 30 year old airplanes, some are in poor condition, and one was so bad I joined the group of students who simply refused to fly it. Of the 14 they advertise, 2 are in a hangar after running out of time and are stored for parts (I think one had the wings cut off with a sawz-all). Only a few have GPS, and there are no working autopilots or weather radar (and yes, I know how to use it!), so don't believe the adverts.
While I was at the school, there was usually 4-8 airplanes available for flying, and on a couple of days the school shut down entirely to allow the maintenance shack to catch up.

Never heard the stove complaint before.

Airplanes are fine. Yes they are not air conditioned and brand new, but that is what preflights are for. They are either safe or not.

Hey Kill, did you get your CFI yet? Let me know when you want a LOR, if you want to come here.......

:yup:

Actually, I've almost got my CFI...I just need to get my PPL, IR and COMM. Oh, and some money. I need some money too.

So, I'll hit ya up soon...:D

I'm back home taking a break from it right now. I still have to get my commercial single done I'm kind of stuck on it. I might take you up on that LOR though.
