Air Associates of Kansas Hiring C206 Aerial Imagery Pilots

No need for any clarification. My stance on AAK, which has been bolstered due to your attitude toward how "expendable" the pilot group has now become, doesn't need clarifying. Thanks for taking the time to address me individually. I think it really shows that your company isn't a place a pilot would want to work, and you are trying to nip it so word does not spread. I'm guessing they are hiring now because there isn't any trust from the pilot group after laying off pilots, and there was a mass exodus.

To those of you looking, there are many other vendors that you would gain better experience and not have to deal with the day to day bureaucratic issues this company has. Granted, it's a job, but this one should be avoided. Just my two cents!
I am a current pilot here at AAK, and have been for a few years. Starting my fourth year here soon. Yes, it's true that we had layoffs early in the year, however it was not because of the management here. It went way above them and came down from the customer who pays the bills.... Regarding the pilots that were let go, some had had previous write ups, others because the customer who pays the bills said we needed to cut the pilot group down to a certain number due to the fleet being cut. (show me a perfect place to work, everyone has issues from time to time). I have had nothing but a great experience here and the management team currently in place, do a damn good job of trying to take care of the line pilots. Anytime I have needed anything, they have been there for me. It's not a fast time building job for sure, but the quality of life is great, it's a fun job, and the planes are top notch compared to a lot of entry level jobs! If anyone is interested, I would recommend AAK. PM for details...

Id lIke to add that I work there for just over a year and had a great time .. They gave me my start in aviation and now Im at a regional . Its a great place with. Great team !!!

Submitted my application and resume today. Now for the waiting game. Anyone have an idea how long that might be if I make the cut?

On the 23rd of Aug the OP said all position were filled. I sent mine in a couple weeks ago in case something opened up.

Same here Frank. After hearing so many good things (and being able to be home based) I can't help to be excited to take my shot at getting to be part of it. All of the people I've gotten to chat with couldn't be happier.

I worked for this company in both the aerial mapping and flight school department for a total of just under three years. Show me another place where the owner buys lunch for EVERYONE IN THE OFFICE every Thursday. Or a place where they say, "Hey, this brand new-ish 206 just had the engine rebuilt. Take it somewhere and burn off about 6 hours of flight time." (Company paid aircraft rental to have lunch with my pops) It's the little things that show the mgmt really appreciates what the employees do. If you have a problem with this company, chances are... you're the problem. The time is pretty scarce, I averaged less than 350 hrs per year in the aerial mapping, but if they are ever in the need for flight instructors, I would definitely recommend looking into it. When I was there, decent base salary + hourly rate + health/dental/vision insurance. Plus they have a charter dept. Keep your nose to the grindstone and who knows what you'll end up flying.

Very true. Very intimate setting and close knit group. I had a ball there.
