I suggested some time ago that the chat be linked to the website so it is something official. After going to the chat a few times I know why this didn't happen. 90% of the time the conversation is non-aviation related.
 
and sometimes it's nice like that so we can all come in and just hang out for a bit...remember, chatting is used more for networking than anything else.. it doesn't have to be aviation talk because during the day and on the forums - most of you guys are talking aviation anyways...

it's just nice to not talk aviation for a while, but hang out with your online friends and get to know eachother separate from aviation. that's also what Network JC is about - basic networking and getting to know the guy/girl who might be your cabin mate in the future.
 
True that! If it was purely aviation chat, I probably wouldn't show up!

I think it should be brought to the attention of the forum that the AIM Chat is supposed to conform to the same rules as the forum.

That means G RATING.

I saw f words, obscenities, disgusting names, suggestive comments, and discussion of porn stars tonight - all with minors in the room.

This is not acceptable.
 
John, it's unmoderated. It's not part of JC. And you just hit upon the reason why it isn't.

It can be reported to TOS Police.

Guides can enter the room.

If it is not policed, I will not be participating anymore. I will also ask Doug to discourage participation if it is not held to the high JC standards.
