Lots of good info here. You can click on the individual airlines and it lists their current condtition.
On the United page it says "It is pursuing a dual strategy of slashing labor costs and creating a new discount airline as a way to emerge from bankruptcy."
Whats the deal with this "discount airline"? I hadn't heard anything about it.
