A bit of news!

As of this week, I am no longer an airline pilot.

I had an opportunity come up—I tried out, and got selected, for a travel roller derby team. I've chosen to focus on myself, my fitness, my family, and being the best skater I can be for my team. ^_^

It wasn't an easy decision; I've been a pilot for more than half my life, and I've been doing it professionally for a decade. I won't rule out a return to the flight deck at some point, but frankly, I needed my life back.

Very best wishes as you move into this new phase of your life! I hope you’ll continue to share your experiences, whether 121 or not. I’ve found you have much to offer.

Ever seen a commie drink water?
I checked the date of the post to make sure it wasn't from last April 1. Congrats! I've done the "leave a good job to do what you love and damn the torpedoes" thing, and I never regretted a moment of it.
