AF A&P program

I enrolled in the Air Force's A&P program while I was still eligible. I formally was a crew chief on C-130s. Now I am cross training to be a Flight Engineer on the C-5. I received training package back that out lines all the requirements. The tasks I was certified on as a crew chief are already filled out. I get to take the remaining tasks to the various shops to get educated on, demonstrate proficiency and signed off on. I can also do them (to my understanding) on the outside and have a certified A&P sign the task.

For the academic side there are three computer based training courses through the community college of the Air Force I have to take; airframes, powerplants and general.

I'm not in too much a of hurry to get his done, but I am also working from time to time at the base's museum where they have a workshop and a lot of the volunteers are retired maintainers both from the civilian and military side, most often both.

I need to look into what it would take to get my A&P since I was a maintainer in the Navy. I was only an avionics tech though, so a lot of the powerplant and airframe stuff would be over my head I am sure.
