Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is now recruiting for the position of AEW&C Tactical Role Player, to be based at our RAAF Base in Williamtown.
The AEW&C Tactical Role Player will provide role playing support to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) for the execution of the tactical element of the Mission Crew training program for the Wedgetail In Service Support (WISS) System.
Training activities will be conducted at RAAF Williamtown using the Operational Mission Simulator (OMS) in which representative scenarios will be simulated for the conduct of crew training.
The AEW&C Tactical Role Player may also support other Training activities as required, including providing training device familiarisation to Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) instructors in order to support the delivery of tactical training events.
Core working hours are 8 hours Monday to Thursday and 6 hours on Friday. However, some training delivery may occur outside these core hours in order to facilitate access to training equipment. Training support outside of core hours will be communicated to staff via the training scheduling process.
This role involves the following key qualifications:
  • Hold or held a qualification as an Air Defence Simulator Operator, or
  • Hold or held a qualification as an Air Combat Officer
Experience
  • Three (3) years recent operational experience, and able to demonstrate skill in two or more of the following areas:
    • Conduct of role player duties in support of RAAF Fighter Control operations
    • Operation of Electronic Support Measures
    • Operation of Data Links
    • Operation of Radar systems
    • Operation of Air Defence related Command and Control systems, or
    • Operation of Electronic Warfare Self Protection systems
OR
  • More than three years experience in the operation of Air-Defence simulators
BDA requires all applicants to be able to demonstrate the following essential qualifications:
  • Certificate IV Workplace Assessment and Training (or equivalent Training and Development qualifications), or willingness to undertake the training to gain the certificate qualification
  • Experience in AEW&C or AWACS environment
  • Experience in course design and development
  • Experience as a Trainer or Instructor
