Aerosim Flight Academy

I know this post is a little old, but I went on ahead and submitted my resume as well. Hope to hear something back!

I think they want guy with 200h.

I got 10 times more And never got answer from them... It s a shame, because instruction is in my skin.... :D

The reality is they are taking instructors from different perspectives. Retired ATPs, CSIPs, former ATP grads, college aviation program graduates from all around the country.

I know of a guy that just got hired there. He leaves at the end of the month for the next cfi standz course. He feels overwhelmed right know since he studied under part 65 and this stuff to him is like wow!
I agree with 22- they take folks from all aspects so bring your A game and be prepared to study- in the mock ups - chair fly and do what you need to to graduate standz. Then have fun. He's currently studying the manuals they sent him. He also said that they would start you out with 1 or 2 students to see how you do. They have instructor housing for the time your there, and after you have to find your own place or stay there until you do. about $22.00 per night dorm style, or something.

Those of you still trying to get a call, keep persistence and perservering and remember, for Katie (the new girl) to call you, her boss has to approve it first. He is concerned about his hours since the flight school he's at is about to close so he has no student- thus no money so he's been working at like fed ex odd jobs on craigs list to pay for the move. Can anyone chime in on this and what to expect? Hope this helps someone trying to get on.

I worked there over the summer until getting hired at an airline not too long ago. The actual standards class really isn't that hard as long as you pay attention in class and study. The instructors will give you a review the day before each written test so you shouldn't be surprised. I think my class had around 14 that started and only 1 didn't get the required score on one of the tests and was sent home. If I remember right the tests throughout the week are on Part 61,91, some 141, FOI, limitations, Emergency Memory Items, AIM and I think there is more but I forget. Like I said the instructor will give a review of the tests so you won't be surprised. Just study and you should be ok.

Overall I thought it was a good place to flight instruct. Maintenance was good and if something didn't look right then all you have to do is call MX out to see or write it up. It's a Professional operation and I don't regret working there. Thats not to say its the perfect job. It can get frustrating / stressful teaching in busy Class B/C airspace with students whose first language isn't English, but I think flight instructing in general can be a stressful job at times. The SR20 is my favorite general aviation airplane no questions asked! Best of luck.

Well I visited some schools and told me they don't hire Cfi. I sent plenty of resumes too.

When I look at the price, 210 bucks for a c172 with a Cfi, no wonder why usa has less and less students.

Good new! I stop looking for a Cfi job and go chase the big job on big aircraft or jet. All my friends in 135 told me the same.
"what are you doing? you have an atp and you have 135 experience , go back 135 and look for jet."

Cfi is ok to build time and get some experience and have some fun. but 135 is the way to go.

Good luck to all of you.

(The truth I got offers already in 135, but I like teaching, most guys like 135 when I like to fly with foreign students)
