Aerosim Flight Academy

Anyone actually heard anything back? I applied and called to follow up on my application and they never returned my call. I have 900hrs tt and got my ratings at dca a few years back.

There has been a continuous flow of new instructors coming through the academy, they just started a new standz class last week. I think they can only have something like 15 in a class

I just had a friend get hired there. He only has his CFI.

Really? I applied there months ago and again when I got my CFII. Still no response from them at all.
Or did he do his training there? In which case that makes sense.

I fly at the Jax Aerosim or train there in other words. Actually been there for awhile. If anyone has questions about that base I can probably find the answers for ya.

Does anyone know the gouge on the phone interview? Help would be appreciated. This is for the CFI position

A gouge for a phone interview at a flight school? o_O If you are a CFI, you should be prepared for a position as one.

I think there is one in the interview section of the forum. You will have to search for it.

Looking for a gouge for a CFI position is no different than looking for a gouge for a regional airline. Its all stuff you should know if your trying to get the job. They all ask the same types of questions: airspace, IFR, approach plates, emergencies, etc. When you are looking to break into each level of the industry every little bit of info helps! Plus Aerosim's standards are very strict so I would say getting through the interview/standz there is harder than some regional airlines are.

I applied months ago and they called relatively soon. Didn't take it but it was relatively straight forward. Like rotor2wing said, pretty straight forward questions. If your a half co patent CFI you should breeze through it.

Yes, they are a tough school. I did zero hours to CFII there so trust me, I know... but at the same time, if you are a CFI expecting to get a teaching job, you should already be prepared to interview.

I am a plenty competent CFI CFII MEI. I was just looking for any help. I've had CFI jobs and I've always tried to help the people who were coming on new to a school.

I just recently had a phone interview. And like what everyone said. They asked me 5 questions which in my opinion a private pilot should know. Don't sweat it at all...
