Right up the road from me. If/when I pass my BFR Sunday, I will be applying. I will still need an IPC and I am wondering a little bit if I should wait until I have the IPC.
 
I worked there as an A & P right out of college. This was back in 2005 when it was still Delta Connection Academy. If it is still the same company culture it was back then, i would say its a cool place to work.

We had some great ex military guys turning wrenches, and all the mechanics took their jobs seriously. I beleive they have gotten rid of some of the aging Cessna products in their fleet.

I made some lifetime friends there, and the training seemed to be very standardized and professional.

It is too bad it is no longer associated with Delta, because the flight benefits were a great perk.

If you are wlling to work hard and keep you're attitude from going grey like so many who are always looking for the ugly in life, i think it could be a good gig.

I do not regret my time in Sanford one bit.

And when you find squawks on your airplane do not forget to be nice to your mechanics! They are actually on the same team as you...safety.
 
Aerosim is a good place to work as an instructor. The BFR isn't a pass/fail event. I recommend you show up with the IPC out of the way.
 
I did all my training with exception to my PPL at aerosim and its an awesome school. im working as a flight instructor there now and its great. They are very strict on their standards and procedures which make for a very professional training enviroment

I'm curious how many hours you fly a month there on average?

You can prob get anywhere between 75-100 hours a month. Even more so now that we are switching to a 7 day operation so airplane availability will increase a great deal.

Thanks. Got the BFR today and am starting work on the IPC. I will hold off on sending in my application until I get that done.
 
I don't know if this is bad form or not, so here goes. What is the pay per hour of instruction given? (I need this to make an informed budgeting decision)
 
Just a quick question about Aerosim. I have heard from several people that they are looking for about 50 CFIs in the next few months. Can anyone confirm that? I also understand that once hired there is a very high failure rate to get through their standz. So what gives? Is Aerosim that anal about procedures or is it lack of motivation from the new hires. Anyone with Aerosim have a good gouge on how to make it through standz. I am considering Aerosim for employment and trying to learn as much as I can.
 
Aerosim does need to hire 50 instructors for 2012. I don't know about the high failure rate? They have to have standardized procedures because of the training contracts with different airlines. Aerosim is a good place to get flight time and the pay is fairly good for a CFI job.
