Anybody out there working on their 2020 mandate? Some of the stuff out there right now is pretty cool.

Track up bro!Why is your chart upside-down? Puppies are crying everywhere.![]()
Track, the system as set up doesn't have a heading input.Track up or heading up?
That's cool for your personal use, but there are some gotchas with the portable stuff. For one thing, if you were an aircraft owner it doesn't do out so it doesn't meet the 2020 rule. It also means no one else will see you on their display (at least outside of ground based tis coverage, and even then only if you have a mode c transponder), and depending on the equipment type of other traffic you may not get anything.I've been considering purchasing a Stratus 2 just to have the backup AHRS. It's been recommended to me by more than one instructor.
ADS-B seems to be pretty awesome, too.
Ye venerable Lead Sledde.206 with Bonaire conversion? Or 207?

And we have an iPad.
Not yet, we are slated for "sometime" this winter. They did upgrades on Taquan and Misty Fjords and then left town. You meet the freeflight folks?
Not sure. Nobody around here uses XM. I mean obviously the text stuff is what it is, and we don't use the radar overlay much since the nearest radar site is 80+ NM away with mountains blocking line of site so radar is essentially useless to us most of there time.We have out but I'd love to get in so we don't have to get those tis not available messages all the time. How does it compare to data accuracy to the xm weather?
Alaska is a difficult place to get any useful information from data being piped in.Not sure. Nobody around here uses XM. What's the budget and desired functionality? What does everyone recommend as far as equipment by 2020? What's the least expensive route? I was thinking stratus paired with an ADS-B out transponder?
