ADF Summit 2024 - MCO

Hello,

I am interested in attending this summit as this is a great opportunity to network with other dispatchers. With that in mind, is registration still open, and if so, when should I register by? Is there a registration fee?

Hopefully, it's not too late as I would like meet new people in this profession.
pay your ADF membership fee and register online. It ends up being $55 total...includes meals.

From the Book Of Faces:

Our agenda is almost finalized and includes: an open bar cocktail reception, an in-depth analysis of the Tenerife tragedy, the popular leadership panel with leadership teams from major airlines, discussions around Artificial Intelligence in Dispatch, updates on TSA RAPBACK, discussions with FAA Dispatch Inspectors, and much more!

I registered for membership on dispatcher.org and for ADF conference!

Don’t get me wrong, loving what you do and the industry as a whole is not a bad thing. We have a pretty laid back job compared to what many others endure for much less pay. But for some people it’s just a job, a means to an end. And that’s 100% fine. I worked with a guy that wanted nothing to do with aviation outside of his scheduled hours, but he was still good at his job.

Personally for me, I’m fanboying out any time I see the queen of the skies. I can sit and talk about planes for hours on end and not get bored.
Go jumpseat on a 747 on Atlas. Best travel experience I have had as a dispatcher, hands down.

Don't you miss the crying babies, middle seat between above average size people who haven't showered in a couple of days?

I had a buddy at my last shop that would almost exclusively use Atlas jumpseating to go back and forth to Asia and he had nothing to but rave things to say about it. I'm hanging out on the part 135 side of the fence at the moment so I don't have CASS 😭.

2024 ADF Summit: Hurricane Milton

Due to the devastating effects of Hurricane Milton, we regret to inform you that the 2024 ADF Summit will not take place as originally planned.

At this time, we are evaluating whether the event will be cancelled entirely or postponed to a later date. Additional communication will be provided in the coming days.

All room reservations made through the official ADF room block have been automatically cancelled. If you booked accommodations outside of this block, please contact the hotel directly to cancel your reservation.

The hotel has requested that we release our allocated rooms to support humanitarian efforts in the wake of the hurricane. These rooms are urgently needed to house first responders, FEMA workers, and evacuees affected by this natural disaster.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this challenging time.

That’s what I’m doing.

Well, that's what I *was* planning on doing. For anyone having issues reading the text above, the Summit has been, at the very least, postponed until a later date. If it's still planned in Orlando, I would think this would likely be a date after hurricane season is over...but I really have no idea what the plan is at this point. Shame, I was looking forward to the trip.

Lol who planned the conference into florida with no alternate?

Okay in all seriousness though,

What else does ADF offer other than hosting a summit? Are there more events like it? Is there a community here? Will I have networking opportunities in general? I just want to make sure it's worth the $30 since I just became a member for this summit only to be postponed.

Dispatchers are required and continue to be required. That's thanks in large part to the work done by ADF.

Community: not really. But it is something they want to work on and at.

Networking: yes, but you really gotta roll up your sleeves and get in there and volunteer and be involved.
