I got the call today that I was accepted for the program, so I guess now I have to do some more research on where to live. Good luck to anyone that has interviewed with them....

Congrats to you.. I didnt make the flight to PHX

So I have to re interview next month

That really sucks. I hope you don't get bumped to the spring. But everything is really straight forward. Nothing to really worry about...

Hey guys, I've been reading some of your most recent post on the Pace program, if either one of you don't mind would you please give me the 411 on the program? I'm planning on attending Ari-ben in August and I was wondering if the Pace program would be a good fit after Ari-ben. What ever info. you can provide, cost, hours, sims, job possibilities would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot for your help/input.

whats up Chuck

I am right now deciding on going to either Ariben or MAPD. MAPD has 3 types of programs. Pace, Ab initio and Plus. Pace is a program where you have to have 250 hours, 2 year degree and PPL-Commerical rating. The cost of the program is around 10-14k. It last for 3-6 months. After the program you get an interview with Mesa. Im not to sure about that program as I never really looked into it. I know you get some CRJ sim time in the program. 40 hours I think.

I was interested in the Ab initio program. Its a 19 month program that takes you from zero time to a interview with Mesa at around 250-300 hours. You get a 2 year degree and your PPL- commercial multi ratings. Plus 40 hours in the CRJ sim. Its a solid program and have heard nothing but good things about the program from pilots who fly the line at Mesa. The only negitive thing is you are putting all your eggs into one basket. If you dont get hired on you have wasted 19 months and only have around 300 hours. Cost of the program is avg person 45k including the 2 year degree.

Well, if ya DO get bumped to Spring, you might have a roommate right here. As far as places to live, my friend who went through PACE had a decent 2 bdrm/1 bath about half way b/w the school and the airport for pretty cheap. I'd call him right now to find out where and how much, but he's in PHX for ground school.

Well you wouldn't get "the prize" but you will still have a 2 year degree and the ratings. The former participants I talked to also had great things to say about the flight education.
