It's solidarity between union pilots who will NOT cross picket lines. Since the other carriers are not on strike, outside of CVG and ILN it is business as usual minus the fallout from the shutdown CVG and ILN ramps.
This is how unions should work. I don't understand why an Expressjet union pilot in your example would cross a Mesa picket line??
Ok let's say Mesa is on strike and they're at IAH picketing. Would United pilots be crossing a picket line to go to work that day? Let's say a United 737 driver flying IAH to LAX.
