Abandoned & Little-Known Airfields

[ QUOTE ]
Holy cow! Check out 17FL (Greystone) it's a 7500x360ft paved private rwy that used to be the home of 3 privately owned 707s! It's still around and it's being turned into an aviation comunity.

Yup, that's where John Travolta has his house. The community is called "Jumbolair".

Flew over it two weeks ago and Travolta's house is the biggest thing on the field.

There was an old airstrip just south of ATL on 19-41... it was converted into some huge building (some kind of college i believe) and there are still airplanes fenced off, although i think they are for the tech school and not stranded. I flew over it the other day, and you can still see the old runway. Any ATL folks know which one Im talking about? Do you know the name?

Sorry this is off-topic, but Meigs Field says planes were stranded there when they destroyed the runway. They aren't still stuck there, are they?

[/ QUOTE ]No, they are not. The alphabets made arrangements for the aircraft to use the taxiway to be flown out in the days following the Dictator Daley Debacle.

I really hope there's a special place in Hell reserved for that no-good SOB.
