AAL, SWA, UAL, and ASA fined over inaccurate info reference bumping

Fort Worth-based American Airlines was fined the most of the four airlines at $45,000. Dallas-based Southwest Airlines was fined $40,000, Alaska Airlines was fined $40,000 and United Airlines was fined $35,000.

Wow! Look at those hefty fines. Just slightly worse than a flopping fine in the NBA.

Did you see that some airlines are charging customers to complain now? Obviously, if it is found that the complaint is legitimate, they get their money back plus whatever else.

The real cost is the overhead used to answer such complaints.

So many of these fines get knocked w - a - y down in the appeal process, along with the airlines' promises to never, ever again do some a heinous thing, let's hope the answering process is indeed the real penalty.

$40,000 is a joke. American made $9200 a minute in the first quarter of profit according to my math.
